Seniors Volunteer Program - Surrey and White Rock

Volunteer Programs/Opportunities Include:
- Friendly Visitor Volunteer: 1 on 1 visits 1-2 hours once a week in the home of an isolated senior who would like social connection. Training is 4 hours.
- Senior Connector: This service provides in-person support to seniors at a local Surrey library through scheduled volunteer shifts. Trained volunteers offer guidance on housing, pensions, benefits, and community resources, helping seniors navigate complex systems and access the support they need.
- Nav-CARE: (Navigation: Connecting, Advocating, Resourcing, Engaging) is a volunteer program designed to support individuals living with dementia and their care partners to stay connected, access essential resources, and improve their quality of life.
- Tech Buddies: Helping Older Adults with tech problems or teaching 1 on 1 lessons on how to use their device.
- Telephone Tree: Offers support services to older adults over the phone. Our volunteers make weekly social calls offering participants a chance to be heard by providing emotional support, companionship and a sense of community. Volunteers can also provide clients with information and referral services as well as keep them informed about the programs and events in the community.
- Front Desk: This service provides front desk and administrative support at the South Surrey location. Trained volunteers assist with answering phone calls, responding to emails, greeting guests, maintaining the community board and resource wall, and supporting printing tasks. This role contributes to the smooth operation of programs and services, while offering volunteers meaningful experience in office administration within a community-focused environment.
- Community Engagement Volunteer: This service supports Brella Society’s presence at community events through volunteer-led outreach and engagement. Volunteers assist with event setup and interactive activities, helping to share information about Brella’s programs and services.
- Online Events Volunteer: This service supports the delivery of virtual social programming through Brella Online Events. Volunteers help create, lead, or facilitate group activities and discussions in an online setting.
