The Family Project: Rediscover Parenting

Provided by Atira Women's Resource Society

A closed 15-week support group for women who have experienced violence/abuse.
Participants are provided with an opportunity to rediscover parenting for themselves. The curriculum is designed as an exploratory process that moves women from the outside in that is, from examining the influences of society, the family of origin and experiences of abuse/trauma to examining one’s self.

The curriculum acknowledges the impact that violence against women has on the mother-child relationship and the challenges that women and children face in living free from violence/abuse. Women do not need to be parents or have current custody of their children to attend.

Women do not need to be parents or have current custody of their children to attend.
