COPD and Asthma Patient Support

Provided by BC Lung Foundation

Provides support for patients with chronic lung diseases including: COPD, bronchiestasis, asthma, and pulmonary fibrosis. Anyone with a lung condition is welcome.
Offers various patient support programs, including:
  • Ask the Experts Monthly Webinars: Living with COPD & Asthma webinar series is designed to help those living with chronic lung conditions optimize quality of life, covering education components key to effective self-management of your COPD and/or asthma. Webinars are offered monthly, and the sessions are moderated by registered respiratory therapists.
  • Online Community Support (Facebook Group): BC Lung manages a Facebook group that provides peer support for those with COPD and asthma. They have health professionals (respiratory therapist, physiotherapist) who monitor the group and make themselves available on a weekly basis to answer any COPD-related questions. The purpose of this group is to share patient experiences, support one another, have access to expert respiratory health support and learn how to live your best life.   • Peer Support Groups: In-person support grounds offered in Abbotsford, North Okanagan, and Vancouver.


Most programs are offered via online delivery. In-person meetings still occur in Abbotsford and North Okanagan.
