Acquired Brain Injury Services

Provided by Semiahmoo House Society

Provides drop-In and day services supporting people with Acquired Brain Injuries.
The program works from a holistic perspective ensuring the development of strategies that are inclusive and considerate of all areas of each person's life, i.e. individual health, education, vocation, community involvement, and spirituality/religion. Supported individuals are encouraged to build connections such as personal networks to build/enhance social skills development and interpersonal skills.

The program outline consists of:
  • Social development
  • Aphasia
  • Self-care skills
  • Life skills
  • Community access & integration
  • Recreation & leisure
  • Education
  • Vocational interests
  • Volunteer placements
  • Person Centred Planning (Essential Lifestyle Planning)

Cost: Annual fee of $200.00 for meal costs. If financial assistance is required, payment arrangements can be made with the Program Coordinator.

Eligibility: Must be 19 years of age or older and can independently meet their self-care needs.

No referral required to access the service. An appointment must be set up with the Program Coordinator prior to attending.
