A compilation of Youth Clinics across the Island Health Region that provides culturally safe, gender-affirming and inclusive care within a sex-positive environment that's welcoming to all individuals.
Island Health Youth Clinics provide a space for youth to speak with a nurse about health questions, with some sites having access to other health care practitioners such as physicians, nurse practitioners and counsellors. Nurses provide free and confidential services to clients under 25 years of age that include education, counselling, resources and referrals for:
  • Various immunizations,
  • Free condoms, and birth control & referrals as needed,
  • Free emergency contraception (ECP aka Plan B),
  • STI information, testing and treatment,
  • HIV education and testing,
  • Pregnancy testing and options counselling,
  • Mental health and wellness support and referrals,
  • Sexual decision-making and relationships immunizations
  • Harm reduction information and resources including for vaping/smoking and naloxone kit information

How to Access
  • No referral is necessary
  • You clinics are available throughout South, Central and North Island
  • Some communities may have Youth Clinics at multiple sites - contact your local Youth Clinic to learn more about the specific services offered for youth under 25 years of age.
