Pain Management and Physical Therapy Clinic for Veterans and RCMP

Provided by IRP Health

Pain and exercise programs for veterans and RCMP officers.
The programs are delivered in a small group setting with a maximum of 4 participants. These programs are all funded through veterans affairs/RCMP, therefore there is no cost to the client themselves. The programs are:
  • Reintegration Program: A physiotherapy supervised exercise program continually shows people that they are fitter than they think they are. This program stimulates the physical body and mind through a cumulative approach built on daily successes. It is an assisted exercise program which runs 3x a week for 12 weeks and is with a physiotherapist and athletic therapist/kinesiologist.
  • Transition Program: This Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy program has been specially designed to improve the function of those whose mental and/or physical state causes them to struggle with leaving home or participating in an intensive program. The overall goal of this stage is to be able to progress into a program with higher levels of participation and physical demand. It runs 2x a week for 6 weeks and is with a physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
  • Reactivation Program: A multidisciplinary pain management program that consists of pain education, graded exposure to activity and graded exposure therapy to reduce disability and improve quality of life. It involves the disciplines of general medicine, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics, and exercise therapy to meet your goals. It runs 5x a week for 12 weeks.
