Nexus Substance Abuse Counselling Services

Provided by Boys and Girls Club

Provides a wide range of services: individual, family and/or group counselling, drop-in, social/recreational activities, referrals, drug/alcohol information and education, crisis intervention.
Program offers a supportive atmosphere, where youth feel comfortable to explore alcohol and drug-related issues and consider options for obtaining a healthier lifestyle.
Nexus Offers:
  • Crisis counselling
  • Education and referral services.
  • Individual counselling
  • Travel to youth locations (outreach counselling)
  • Assistance to youth identifying specific goals and needs
  • Help youth access existing support programs and alcohol and drug services
  • Aftercare service
  • Drop-in counselling services at other street-youth programs

Offers assessment and referral services to other programs, such as detox and residential treatment.

Staff consists of youth and family counsellors with a special focus on alcohol and drug issues.
